Sorry, it took me a while to get back to you with my feedback about our trip to China. We are still travelling, currently we are at the east coast of Bali.
Our trip to Yunnan Province in China was really a highlight! Everything went according to plan. Jack was a great guide and driver, knowledgeable, friendly and responsive to our needs and wishes. We particularly liked the two hotels you had chosen for us. Moon & Chalice in Kunming is a very stylish hotel with lots of charm; the location in the middle of the lively downtown area is great. The auberge in Jianshui was like an oasis out of this world. We liked the place so much!
In both hotels, the staff were very friendly and attentive.
The programme was very interesting – the only suggestion there is that if I would go again I would like to see a bit more about modern China too. It was great to see all the historic and cultural places, but it would be interesting to see also the way of life of contemporary Chinese society.
We also liked and were impressed by the natural beauty of Yunnan Province, and as we were lucky with the weather we could really enjoy the outdoor places like the Stone Forest among others.
So, all in all, we were very happy with the itinerary, the guide and the accommodation. Thanks again for putting together such a great trip to Yunnan Province for us, David!
